The position of Police Chief is a fulltime, exempt department head of the City of Menasha. This position is responsible for various administrative functions including, but not limited to, the planning, assigning, directing and supervision of personnel. The Police Chief is a representative of the City of Menasha and the State of Wisconsin and as such, is governed by not only legal but moral standards of the highest nature. The position requires a philosophy of dedication to the public service for the common good of all citizens.
The Police Chief shall be responsible for managing and directing the activities of the police department, including ensuring that laws and ordinances are enforced, and that measures are implemented to prevent crimes and protect lives and property.
Salary Range: $117,852 - $150,592 (full range). The anticipated hiring range is $117,852 - $130,956, based on qualifications and experience. Offers above $130,956 require approval from the Personnel Committee and Common Council.
